He could probably get the job done, but would you want to take that risk by trusting a provider who doesn't perform that procedure on a regular basis? Especially when a specialist is right around the corner?
Just as healthcare providers specialize to attain deeper levels of knowledge and expertise to treat specific medical conditions, HDS has chosen to serve specific healthcare providers. Each medical specialty has its own procedure codes and modifiers, Medicare LCDs, CCI edits, carrier-specific requirements, and other billing anomalies. As a result, a billing company that services a broad range of specialties is probably not going to achieve the results that we can because they are trying to be too many things to too many people-- they never get good at any one specialty. Just about anybody with basic computer skills can send out a claim-- the trick is getting the insurance company to pay it. Your current billing company-- or even your in-house biller-- could be costing you money due poor coding, nonexistent followup, the inability to recognize an opportunity for increased revenue, and/or a lack of knowledge on proper appeals. If you don't go with us, then do yourself a favor and go with a billing company that only does PT.
