Patient Billing

About every four weeks, your patients get a statement. Our statements are "remainder" statements-- that is, they get a statement after the insurance has paid its portion. Our patient statements are well-designed so they are easy to read, and reduce calls to your (and our) office. The statement lists the date(s) of service, a description of services, amount paid by insurance, adjusted by insurance, and amount still owed by patient. Any "notes" to why a claim wasn't paid, such as deductible, copayment, coinsurance, or any denials, such as service not covered under plan or reached plan max, are also on the statements. Each service line item is listed separately so the patient can see the adjudication of each service.

Patient Calls

Each patient statement that goes out lists Health Data Solutions as the point of contact for billing questions. For those patients outside the Charleston, WV area, we include a toll-free number. Calls are routed to your practices' account team. That way, you can be assured that someone who works daily on your account, and understands its nuances, is answering your patients' questions. All of our associates undergo "patient-friendly" training designed to put your patient first.
